The oil filter on my Tige 21i just would not move. I tried all the typical tools to crank it off, but to no avail. I had to resort to cutting off the canister and fashioning a custom tool to remove the top of the filter which was still stuck onto the oil filter housing. The rubber seal had sort of welded to the metal housing and there was paint on the housing which should not have been there. That paint was affixed to the rubber seal also. This was a difficult and long task to remove the filter. The filter housing is now clean like it should have been and a new filter has been installed as per the conventional wisdom. I don't expect to encounter this issue again with this engine.
