"ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - Many of you heard a loud boom Monday afternoon.

Just before 3:00 p.m., NewsChannel 15 received several calls from viewers in New Haven and northeast Fort Wayne.

Allen County and New Haven police checked out those areas, but didn't find anything.

Some think it could have been a sonic boom from a jet. For an official at the Fort Wayne Airport said there weren't many planes in the air around the time of the boom and are skeptical that would be the source.

Others point toward an OmniSource factory, which is said to have caused the noise before."
