My name is Thia Loreign which means "Lord Reigns", got it from my mom Thaina and my dad Lorence. I was born at the Immaculate Concepcion Medical Center in Cabanatuan City last May 16, 2011. I am the youngest and the only girl in a brood of 3.
I am suffering from a Life Threatening Liver Disease called Billiary Cirrhosis and only Doctor's recommendation is LIVER TRANSPLANT in Taiwan at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital.
I am delivered thru ceasarian operation, seems to be well and in good health, gains weight, drinks milk, with regular bowel movement, rosy cheeks and pink lips. New Born Screening result is ALL are WITHIN NORMAL LIMIT. My mom was alarmed wby my persistent jaundice when I got one month old. I was admitted by Dra. Guillasper (my pedia) for confinement and initially treated for Sepsis at the Wesleyan Medical Center last June 22-29. On evaluation, ultrasound pointed towards obstruction and gall bladder not visualized that's why Dra. Guillasper referred me for possible liver biopsy and for further management to Dr. Randy Urtula, a Pediatric Gastroenterologist at the Philippines Children's Medical Center (PCMC) in Quezon City who performed the liver biopsy and attend my medical needs from July 1 to December 2011.
I am now under the medical care of Dra. Germana Gregorio, a Gastroenterologist and Liver Specialist at Phil. General Hospital where albumin and blood transfusion were recommended, follow up check up is every 2 weeks. Dra. Gregorio is handling 80% of patients with liver problems for the pre and post liver transplant care.
Result of Biopsy - Idiopathic neonatal hepatitis progressed to as Chronic Liver Disease called Biliary Cirrhosis
Estimate of Liver Transplant Expenses -- locally it cost 4.5 million in Taiwan approximate 3-4 million pesos.
Our family cannot afford the cost of the liver transplant, we are now engaged in a fund raising campaign to collect the needed amount for my operation. We have spent all the financial support from closed friends and relatives, borrowing/lending money from Financing Institutions and from private individuals with my previous confinement and treatment.
